It sounds so easy but, still, so many struggle to record a meeting in Google Meet. That is mainly because of two reasons. Firstly, Google does not display the record button in the default menu bar in the bottom. Secondly, many users don't have access to the recording function initially. I this blog we will show you, both, how you record a meeting (if you have access already) and how to request access from your Google Workspace administrator.

  1. Check if you are allowed to record a meeting in Google Meet. Currently, only paid users are allowed to record meetings (Find tips on how to request access below)
  2. Click the option button (“...”) in your bottom menu bar in Google Meet
  3. Select the recording button and start recording. Click finish recording as soon as you wish to stop the recording.

Note: Other meeting participants will be notified as soon as the recording starts and stops. Therefore, we recommend informing your participants before you start the recording.
